Dr. Robert Zimdahl

Robert Zimdahl graduated with a B.S. in Dairy Husbandry and Agronomy from Cornell University in 1956. Ten years later he received his M.S. from Cornell University in Agronomy and Plant Physiology, and in 1968 he earned his Ph.D. in Agronomy. Dr. Zimdahl joined the faculty at Colorado State University in 1968 at the Weed Research Laboratory, Department of Botany and Plant Pathology. His research and teaching involved weed science and agricultural ethics. He has published over 100 articles, reports, and books, including Agriculture’s Ethical Horizon, now in its second edition. Dr. Zimdahl was acting department head in the Department of Bioagricultural Sciences and Pest Management for six months and was also the Director of International Education for approximately five years. He received the Oliver P. Pennock Distinguished Service Award, the University Excellence in Undergraduate Studies Award and has been a Fulbright Scholar numerous times. Dr. Zimdahl has held visiting professorships and has been active in international programs such as United Nations and FAO committees. He has worked and visited many countries including Turkey, Italy, Argentina, India, Philippines, and Germany. Dr. Zimdahl retired in 2005
