Take your time on a self guided walking tour in the butterfly garden. The tour in the Butterfly Conservatory starts with a short video presentation. On the way you can take photographs and videos. But remember, tripods are not allowed inside the Butterfly Conservatory. You can use monopod instead of tripods!
Watch scores of beautiful butterflies that flutter and soar through the specially protected conservatory. The 11,000 sq. ft. butterfly garden is home to more than 2000 butterflies.
Walk through the 180 metre (600 ft.) pathways. Find chrysalides in the Emergence area and watch how butterflies make their way out of it.
Inside the butterfly conservatory you can also see a variety of foliage, which works as a source of food to the butterflies.
As you move on, observe the agility of the butterflies and catch a glimpse of them fluttering, resting, feeding and sipping nectar!
Niagara College Teaching Winery and Brewery Tour
Journey of the Senses:
The best of both worlds, this experience includes a tour and tasting at both our Teaching Winery and Teaching Brewery! Your experience kicks off in our own vineyard, where we will discuss the growing season and terroir that allow us to grow premium grapes right here in Niagara, as well as the landscape of the Ontario wine industry. Take a peek at our onsite winemaking facilities and enjoy a structured tasting of VQA wines before making your way to our Teaching Brewery to tour the tanks and sample some of our beloved local brews
Lunch at the winery, sandwiches and rather large Brownies!
BETWEEN THE LINES WINERY
The Wertsch brothers are young informatively enthusiastic wine growers that have created the first sparkling wine in a can – a new and fresh drinking experience. They are often available to speak to during our visits and wine tastings of their other varietals to this small family owned farm winery.
We want to challenge the boundaries of Niagara winemaking and offer our guests and drinkers a dynamic experience.”
Over the past seven years since we opened Between The Lines, our process has been perfected through experimenting with various techniques and exploring inventive winemaking methods pioneered by our master winemaker Yannick Wertsch. The result is a distinguished portfolio of wines that posses a precise flavour and appeal to new wine drinkers and the most seasoned palates.
It all happens here in the Big Red Barn on our stunning property in Niagara-on-the-Lake. Our modern-rustic space houses our cellar and acts as both a tasting room and our clubhouse. Stop by and see for yourself; come tour the grounds as we share all we know about winemaking with you.
